Our Team Received National Recognition

Flathead High School’s speech & debate team
was named to the
National Speech & Debate Association’s
TOP 100 schools in the nation
 for the 2014-2015 academic year,
ranking 92nd out of the more than 3,200
 member schools nationwide!

According to Executive Director J. Scott Wunn, the selected schools “demonstrated outstanding participation and achievement in speech and debate activities” and were chosen based on “competitive and service-related” performance.

Our strong showing at nationals, paired with our State Championship last year, resulted in an historic season for Flathead forensics.

Additionally, we were also recognized as a prestigious Societe’ de 300 program, which is based on the number of kids successfully competing in our program. This accolade places us in the top 3% of programs in the nation!

The two awards are based on separate criteria – the TOP 100 is competitive success and the Societe’de 300 is the strength of our program based on the success and participating number of students.

Congratulations, team!
