Transportation: 

The bus will leave from FHS at 6:00 AM sharp. DON’T BE LATE. Our expected return is sometime between 8:00 PM-9:00 PM —we’ll have the kids call when we get close.

Awards assembly will begin around 5:30, or as soon as final scores are tabulated.

Location: 

All competition will take place in the Ronan High School and Ronan Middle School buildings.  Some events will take place on the second floor of the middle school.  An elevator is available.  Check‐in, student gathering spot, tab room, judges’ hospitality room, and awards assembly will all be in the  MIDDLE SCHOOL.  

Concessions: will NOT be available, so pack plenty of snacks and water.

Other Items: You may dress comfortably on the bus, but you must change into and remain in competition clothes throughout the day (including the awards). Remember your  TIMER!

National Recognition

Flathead High School’s speech & debate team 

was named to the 

National Speech & Debate Association’s 

TOP 100 schools in the nation 

 for the 2018-2019 academic year, 

ranking 97th out of the more than 3,000 

 member schools nationwide!

According to Executive Director J. Scott Wunn, the selected schools “demonstrated outstanding participation and achievement in speech and debate activities” and were chosen based on “competitive and service-related” performance.

Additionally, we were also recognized as a prestigious Societe’ de 300 program, which is based on the number of kids successfully competing in our program. This accolade places us in the top 3% of programs in the nation!

The two awards are based on separate criteria – the TOP 100 is competitive success and the Societe’de 300 is the strength of our program based on the success and participating number of students.

On Monday, September 30th, we will have the first meeting for all returning speech team members (both JV & varsity). 

The meeting will be after school in PA 30 at 3:30.
